Create a 20-second introduction sequence for a real or fictional film festival. The challenge in this project is to find ways to convey tone, purpose, and meaning restricting yourself to the primary use of typographic elements, composition, time, and sound.

"Architecture and film are interlocked: both unfold narrative ideas through space and time, taking us to real and virtual worlds; both start with the imagination and then take on their own reality."
Urbanscape is a 5-day fictional architecture and design film festival that celebrates architectural film through independent short film screenings. The theme for this festival focuses on the power of moving images as a tool for broadening public understanding and appreciation of contemporary architecture.
The visual concept for this festival introduction sequence plays with how every idea starts with a drawing and is then transformed into reality. The visuals play with the shadows, organic forms and the negative-positive abstract shapes, found in the modern architecture.
Zaha Hadid was one of the major architect inspiration for this project. For this concept, I used simple shapes, like they are being drawn on paper to then transform into a complex 3D form, reflecting today's contemporary architecture.
